celebrates each student's individual abilities and unique
spirit through a program that encourages creativity, enhances
self-esteem, and sets the stage for a lifetime of achievement.
The Academy offers a superior Judaic and secular education,
in addition to a well-rounded enrichment program. Our comprehensive
programs give each child the opportunity to grow spiritually
and form a lasting appreciation of our heritage and people.
The Bess and Paul Sigel Hebrew Academy is recognized as a
National School of Excellence by the the U.S. Department of

of our students and the overall scholastic environment that
promotes quality education.

| OUR MISSION |
The Bess and Paul Sigel Hebrew Academy
is a private school open to all Jewish children in pre-school
through eighth grade. Our students come from a wide range of
cultural and ethnic backgrounds, and all Jewish affiliations.
The mission of the Hebrew Academy is ...
to offer the highest level of Judaic and
general education to children
and families of all affiliations in the Jewish community and to
develop Jews who are proud of their heritage, involved in their
community, and devoted to G-d, Torah,
and Klal Yisrael (the Jewish people). |
| A SENSE OF COMMUNITY |
Hebrew
Academy families represent the entire spectrum of Jewish observance
- orthodox, conservative and reform. Parents are encouraged
to become actively involved in every aspect of school life.
The PTA, Board of Directors and various committees plan and
coordinate a wide range of activities from enrichment programming
to curriculum enhancements to special cultural and holiday events.
Throughout the year parents and other honored guests are often
invited to help celebrate their children's educational milestones.
The active support of our parents, grandparents, alumni and
all those who respect the Hebrew Academy's 60-year tradition
of excellence helps to ensure that every Jewish child has the
opportunity to benefit from a Hebrew Academy education.

| PROJECT DERECH |
Derech Eretz -
proper behavior...treating one another with
respect and compassion...being a good and
decent member of the community - is a vital
component of living a Jewish life. Instilling
in students an appreciation for derech eretz,
and developing within them a strong sense of
menshlichkeit, is the primary objective of
Project Derech - an ongoing program that teaches
children important lessons about derech eretz and
thereby helps to promote a healthy and friendly
school environment. In addition, before the start
of each school year both students and parents are
required to sign the Hebrew Academy Code of
Conduct, which is based on three Torah principles:
- All people are created bitzelem Elokim,
in the image of G-d (Bereshit 27)
- Love others as you love yourself (Vayikra 19, 18)
- That which you would not want done to you do not
do to your friend, for this is the entire Torah
(Hillel, Talmud Shabbat 31a)
